Greater Noida: Three history-sheeters, who had robbed a man of Rs 1.4 lakh and his car in Dankaur recently, were arrested on Sunday. They were wanted in several cases of loot in NCR and Bulandshahr.
The suspects, Rishipal (25), Ompal (28), and Sonu (26), are all residents of Aligarh. The police seized three country-made guns, six cartridges, a Hyundai Accent car and money from them.
Abhishek Yadav, SP (rural), G B Nagar, said police received a tip-off that the suspects would be visiting Dankaur. "A team was stationed near Bhatta in Dankaur. The men, who came in a Hyundai Accent car, were stopped for checking. However, they could not produce the papers of the vehicle," he said. The police team checked the vehicle and found illegal weapons in it. During interrogation, the men admitted their involvement in previous robberies.
Police said, Rishipal has seven cases of loot, robbery and extortion filed against him in Noida, Bulandshahr, Palwal and Faridabad. Four criminal cases were registered against Sonu in Noida and Greater Noida while Ompal is wanted in 13 criminal cases registered in Bulandshahr, Noida and Greater Noida. one of their accomplices, Dharmendra, is absconding. He is wanted in 11 criminal cases of loot, robbery and theft in NCR, they said.tnn
The SP said the four suspects, travelling in a Hyundai Accent car, had stopped a man, Rajesh Kumar, in Dankaur and robbed him of Rs 1.4 lakh and his Hyundai Santro car at gunpoint on the night of May 28. They immediately fled the spot. While the police recovered the looted money and the vehicle used in the crime, they are yet to trace the stolen Santro car, which Dharmendra fled with.
