A New Gateway for NCR

Noida International Airport is set to be inaugurated by December 15, marking the arrival of India’s newest world-class aviation hub. The DGCA aerodrome licence — the final clearance for commercial operations — is expected by early December after the last BCAS security check.

2/10

Full-Scale Security Deployment Before Takeoff

More than 1,047 CISF personnel, 350+ AI-enabled CCTV cameras, electric fencing, intrusion detection systems and a centralised security operations centre are in place to ensure layered protection from the first day of operations.

3/10

First Flights Soon: Airlines Start Preparing

Once the licence is issued, Yamuna International Airport Private Ltd (YIAPL) will finalise operational timelines with IndiGo, Air India and Akasa Air. The airport is expected to start with daytime domestic operations before expanding rapidly.

4/10

Built for Passenger Comfort & Tech

From DigiYatra-enabled touchless travel to long, high-capacity security lanes and haveli-style architecture inside the terminal, the airport promises an experience blending Indian warmth with Swiss efficiency, as officials describe.

5/10

Green Airport Built for Sustainability

Noida International Airport will be one of India’s most sustainable aviation hubs, designed to run on 100% green energy in the long term. The terminal uses natural daylighting, energy-efficient systems, rainwater harvesting, waste-to-resource management and a massive solar power setup, aiming for net-zero emissions operations.

6/10

NCR’s New Economic Engine

UP aims to position the project as a logistics and industrial powerhouse, backed by expressways, industrial corridors and multimodal hubs. A 100-acre cargo terminal and MRO facility are already planned in early phases.

7/10

A Boost to the Wider UP Vision

The airport fits into the broader ‘Viksit Uttar Pradesh 2047’ strategy, which targets industrial transformation and a $1 trillion economy. Connectivity and infrastructure continue to receive 22% of the state’s 2025-26 budget.

8/10

Expected Network: NCR to Tier-2 & Tourist Cities

Union aviation ministry expects flights from Jewar to connect at least 10 cities initially — linking NCR directly to major business hubs as well as tourism centres like Agra, Mathura, Meerut and beyond.

9/10

Designed for Mega Expansion

Phase-1 can handle 12 million passengers annually — but the plan is much bigger. In the coming decades, the airport will expand to four runways, four terminals and a 70-million-passenger capacity, making it one of the world’s biggest hubs.

10/10

Propelling Delhi-NCR Into the Future

As IGI Airport continues to operate beyond peak capacity, the launch of Jewar is expected to ease congestion, attract investment, and help Delhi-NCR move toward becoming the world’s largest urban aviation ecosystem by the next decade.
