'Unhe Fortuner chahiye thi': Kin claim Noida woman was beaten, thrown off terrace over dowry; chilling details emerge

'Demanded Fortuner Car, Rs 50 Lakh': Family Claims Noida Woman Was Thrown Off Terrace Over Dowry
NOIDA: A 24-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the roof of her house in Greater Noida’s Ecotech-III area, with her family alleging that she was beaten and then thrown from the terrace to make it appear like an accident. The family has accused her husband and in-laws of dowry harassment, police said on Monday.According to police officials, the deceased has been identified as Deepika, a resident of Kudi Khera village under Badalpur police station limits. She had married Hrithik, a resident of Jalpura village, around one-and-a-half years ago.Deepika’s uncle Vishesh Nagar alleged that there were multiple marks of physical assault on her body and a deep wound that could have been caused by a sharp object such as a blade or screwdriver."We never imagined that all this would happen. Yesterday, my elder brother went to their house. As soon as he returned home—half an hour later—he received a phone call informing him that she had fallen. My brother even asked where she had fallen—that is, whether she had fallen down the stairs. But they told us nothing; they merely said that she had fallen and asked us to come to Sharda Hospital. We also thought she might have suffered a normal injury, " Vishesh Nagar said.
The victim’s uncle also alleged that Deepika’s husband and in-laws had demanded a Fortuner as dowry.Vishesh further alleged that she was beaten and then thrown from the terrace to make it appear like an accident, claiming dowry harassment as the motive behind the incident."Now, after going there, we found out that she is dead. There are marks of physical assault all over her body; there is also a deep wound—likely inflicted by a blade, a screwdriver, or something similar. It is a very deep wound. Thus, after beating her, they threw her down from the terrace in an attempt to portray the incident as an accident. The motive behind this is dowry, " Vishesh Nagar added.
