NOIDA: The traffic police have issued a diversion plan for roads around the Supertech twin towers, where a test blast would be carried out around 2.30pm on Sunday.
Sources said the traffic diversion could be extended in keeping with the requirement. The company carrying out the blast have asked residents of nearby societies to stay indoors for around half an hour from 2.15pm.
Ashutosh Singh, the traffic inspector in Noida, said, “We have planned a diversion near the twin towers. Traffic movement will be restricted from ATS junction to Gejha Phool Mandi, and from Eldeco Chowk to Sector 108. There will also be curbs on the neighbouring flyway that connects Noida with Faridabad,” he said.
Traffic police teams will be deployed in the area from 10am to ensure that the diversion is enforced properly. The cops will also guide the commuters according to the plan.
The police have advised commuters to use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience on Sunday.
Commuters can also call the traffic helpline number — 9971009001 — for more information.
The test blast is needed to ascertain the amount of explosives that will be required to bring down the twin towers. The 32-storey towers — Apex and Ceyane — are likely to be demolished on May 22.
