Motihari: Ram Rahim Sena, a social organization of Dhaka in East Champaran, organised a mass marriage ceremony for underprivileged families in which marriage of 101 couples including five Muslim couples were solemnized on Sunday, about 20 km east of the district headquarters, Motihari. The function was organized at the playground of Dhaka High School by Ram Rahim Sena, which drew a huge turnout of spectators from East Champaran, West Champaran, Sheohar and Sitamarhi district.
State agriculture minister Narendra Singh said problems being face by the farmers have always been of great concern to the state government. Various schemes and innovative ideas in agriculture have helped improve the condition of farmers and enhance foodgrains production in the state.
Singh, speaking as chief guest while appreciating the mass marriage programme, said the man behind it Pawan Jaiswal, MLA, has given a very very positive message to the public representatives and the society at large by organizing such a function named 'Ek Viwah Aisa Bhi '. He said the programme launched by Ram Rahim Sena will help unite the society.
Pawan Jaiswal said, “Such initiatives encourage us to do more for the people. The organizing committee worked very hard to make the programme a success. While the marriage of Hindu couples have been performed under the rituals of Gayatri Pariwar, couples from the minority community have followed their own rituals.” The bridegrooms visited the pandals riding horses accompanied by hundreds of ‘baaratis’ creating much curiosity among the people. To celebrate the function, a cultural programme by On Mosumi in which noted artists Mamta Rawat and Alok Kumar among others entertained the ‘baaratis’.
