PATNA: Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital (MVH), which is considered among major hospitals in the eastern region of the country to provide treatment to children and mothers, on Monday added two new feathers in its cap - the third unit of neonatal ICU and ultra-modern Blood Culture BD Bacteria & Phoenix machine in its pathology department.
Secretary of Mahavir Nyas Samiti Kishore Kunal inaugurated both the wings of MVH.
With this, MVH has become the only hospital in the eastern region of the country to have Blood Culture BD Bacteria & Phoenix machine, which is fully automated bacteria alert in microbiological identification and antibiotic sensitivity tests. It has been installed to provide quality blood test to patients, said M W A Anjum, additional director of MVH.
Kunal said that nutritious milk packets would be provided to mothers who would utilize the facilities at the hospital for delivery.
Head of the department of paediatrics at MVH, Dr Rakesh Kumar Singh said that these facilities, marked by ultra-modern services in the field, were being provided to patients at minimum cost compared to other hospitals. Among others who spoke on the occasion were MVH director S S Jha and senior physician Dr L B Singh.
