Arrest warrant issued against doctor

biharsharif: the sub-divisional judicial magistrate, biharsharif, kishori ram, has issued a warrant of arrest against a local physician, dr shyam bihari prasad, in connection with a case related to the death of a five-year-old girl in the doctor's clinic on august 16, 2000. the biharsharif police had registered a case (number 383/2000) which was later treated as a concocted one and the police submitted the final report.however, the judicial magistrate took cognizance of the matter and issued a warrant of arrest against the doctor on monday. according to the fir, an advocate, chandramauli pandey of village amawana under the bind police station, had admitted his minor daughter geeta kumari to dr prasad's clinic for treatment. the doctor demanded rs 2,000 and pandey deposited rs 1,000. the doctor administered oxygen to the ailing girl. however, on non-receipt of the remaining rs 1,000, the compounder removed the oxygen mask which resulted into the girl's death. after hearing the complainant, the judicial magistrate took cognizance of the case. businessman looted: in a daylight robbery, some unidentified criminals looted rs 3,35,000 from a businessman on the national highway-31 under the sohsarai police station on sunday. according to reports, the victim, ranjeet kumar, who had just withdrawn the amount from a bank, was on his way when the incident occurred. some auto-rickshaw-borne criminals waylaid him and looted the money at the point of revolver. the criminals then made good their escape. the sohsarai police, however, said that they don't have any detailed information about the incident. the incident has alarmed the trading community. people have urged the administration the check recurrence of such incidents. fernandes hailed: samata party leaders of nalanda district have expressed happiness over the re-induction of nalanda mp george fernandes in the union cabinet. in a joint press release, nalanda district samata party president hira bind, district president of youth samata party bipin kumar yadav and others expressed rejoice over the re-allocation of defence portfolio to fernandes. the leaders hoped that nalanda will develop under the leadership of fernandes.
