Patna: BJP leaders hailed the appointment of former party chief and assembly Speaker, Nand Kishore Yadav, as the governor of Nagaland. They also welcomed the new Bihar governor, Lt general (retd) Syed Ata Hasnain.
Legislative assembly Speaker Prem Kumar extended his congratulations and best wishes to Nand Kishore. “The service you have rendered to the people of Bihar, both as an MLA and in other constitutional positions, is exemplary. I have full confidence that with your political understanding and skillful leadership, the people of Nagaland will benefit from your company and will progress,” he said.
Bihar BJP president Sanjay Saraogi congratulated Nand Kishore and welcomed the new Bihar governor.
Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary met Nand Kishore and said his long public life, dedication to the organisation, and administrative experience will add new dignity to his responsibilities as the governor. He expressed his gratitude to the central leadership for honouring the senior BJP leader from Bihar. “Nand Kishore ji has had a long and rich political career since Jan Sangh days. He has served as a seven-time MLA, a minister and Speaker of the legislative assembly in Bihar. He has made significant contributions to the party by heading it for a long time,” Samrat said.
Health and law minister Mangal Pandey also extended his congratulations and best wishes to Nand Kishore and a warm welcome to the new Bihar governor, saying the state will benefit from his vast administrative experience.
