DARBHANGA: Heads have finally rolled, more than two years after allegedly forcing the girl students of M R Mahila College, Darbhanga, to dance on the occasion of "Saraswati Puja", albeit on the intervention of Patna High Court.
The Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU) office received a fax on Saturday communicating the order of the chancellor to transfer five teachers (including one woman principal), ostensibly on administrative grounds, of this university to other universities of the state.
Sudama Tulsyan, earlier principal of M R Mahila College when the episode took place and presently the principal of JMDPL Mahila College, Madhubani, has been transferred to JP University, Chapra on an equivalent teaching post.
Padmrekha Jha, earlier a teacher of M R M College when the episode took place and later transferred to Women''s College, Samastipur, has been asked to join B N Mandal University, Madhepura.
Samir Kumar Verma of CM Science College, Darbhanga, Upendra Kumar of PG department of economics, LNMU, and Rajbansh Yadav, earlier a teacher of MRM College who was later transferred to Millat College, Laheriaseria, have been transferred to V K University, Ara, Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, and Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University respectively.
The LNMU office on Saturday night issued a notification implementing the chancellor''s order.
During "Saraswati Puja" in 2000 at the M R M College, a cultural programme was organised in the evening hours where girl students were allegedly forced to dance.
