Class 8 Begusarai girl found hanging in school classroom

BEGUSARAI: A class VIII girl student was found hanging from the fan of her classroom in the school in Begusarai on Tuesday.
Karina Kumari, a student of Mazaffara Dih Government Middle School under Birpur police station area, did not return home after attending the school Monday evening. However, when the school opened on Tuesday, the teachers and her family members found her body hanging from the ceiling fan of her classroom.The news spread like a wildfire. Angry villagers even thrashed some of the teachers who made bid to defuse the tension and cool down the frayed tempers. The angry mob held the teachers captive for several hours. The incensed mob also vandalized the school premises and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.
Karina's father Madan Sahni alleged that her daughter had been murdered. "When she failed to return home, we started looking for her," he said. Karina's mother claimed that she had gone to her school on early Tuesday morning to look for her daughter but the guard refused to open the gate. Begusarai Sadar SDPO Amit Kumar said the case was being investigated. The classroom remained locked till late Tuesday afternoon. "We are waiting for the forensic team and the dog squad to arrive for proper investigation in the case," he said.
