Dipankar hits out at govt over bulldozer action
Darbhanga: CPI (ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, on the second day of the party’s state conference on Sunday, said due to “faulty policies” of the the then Nitish Kumar govt, the state has been effectively handed over to the BJP. He alleged that bulldozer raj is being run in the state with houses of poor people being demolished and protests by students and youths over their demands being suppressed. He also raised serious questions over the electoral process, claiming that lakhs of names have been deleted from the electoral roll, and demanded that these names be re-added.
He said earlier voters used to elect the govt, but now the govt through the Election Commission is selecting voters. He further alleged that land belonging to the poor is being acquired and handed over to corporate houses. According to him, the policy of the govt is anti-poor and benefits industrialists, while violence against women is increasing and victims are not getting justice.
Raising the issue of the NEET paper leak, Dipankar said criminal elements have infiltrated the conduct of prestigious competitive examinations. He claimed that 22 lakh students have been affected due to question paper leaks in NEET. Criticising the economic policies of the central govt, he said costs are rising daily and poor people are suffering heavily, while public transport is being weakened.
The three-day state conference will conclude on Monday. A large number of delegates from across the state are participating. Besides Dipankar, Karakat MP and central committee member Rajaram Singh, National general secretary of APWA Meena Tiwari, and central committee member Manju Prakash, among others, are attending the conference.
