Motihari: Out of 12 assembly constituencies, 11 NDA candidates were declared victorious, while only one RJD candidate from Dhaka defeated his nearest rival Pawan Jaiswal of the BJP by a thin margin of 178 votes. Pramod Kumar, the BJP candidate from Motihari, secured his sixth consecutive win, defeating his RJD rival Deva Gupta by 13,563 votes. Similarly, Shalini Mishra, the JD(U) candidate from Kesariya and the sitting MLA, defeated her nearest rival Varun Vijay of the VIP (MGB) by 16,340 votes. Raju Tiwari, the LJP (RV) candidate and state party president, defeated Congress (MGB) candidate Shashi Bhushan Rai alias Gappu Rai by 32,719 votes.
Lalbabu Gupta, the BJP candidate from Chiraiya, defeated Lakshmi Yadav of the RJD by 39,360 votes. Rana Randhir, the BJP candidate from Madhuban, defeated Sandhya Rani Kushwaha by 5,492 votes. Shyambabu Yadav, the BJP candidate from Pipra, defeated Jai Mangal Prasad of the CPI-M by 10,745 votes. Sachindra Prasad Singh, the BJP candidate from Kalyanpur, defeated Manoj Yadav of the RJD by 15,568 votes. Krishnandan Paswan, the BJP candidate from Harsidhi and minister in the Nitish cabinet, defeated Rajendra Ram of the RJD by 7,095 votes.
Rajesh Gupta alias Babalu Gupta, the LJP (RV) candidate from Sugauli, defeated Shyam Kishor Chaudhary of the JJD by a massive margin of 58,191 votes. Pramod Sinha, the BJP candidate from Raxaul, defeated Shyam Bihari Prasad of the Congress by 17,878 votes. Vishal Shah, the JD(U) candidate from Narkatiya, defeated Shamim Ahmad of the RJD by 1,443 votes.

The counting of votes was conducted at Munshi Singh College and the DITE office amid tight security. The administration ensured well-organised counting centres. The process began on time and passed off peacefully under the supervision of DM Saurabh Jorwal and SP Swarn Prabhat. Paramilitary forces and police personnel with magistrates were deployed at key locations and crossroads to maintain peace in view of threats issued by RJD leaders.
NDA workers celebrated the landslide victory on the streets, shouting slogans such as "BJP zindabad", "Radha Mohan Singh zindabad", "Nitish Kumar zindabad" and "Modi zindabad".
