Eve-teasing leads to firing in Nawada, three arrested

NAWADA: Eve teasing led to explosion of bombs and firing between two groups on Saturday morning at Nemdarganj Bazaar under Akbarpur PS in Nawada district. Two persons received bullet injuries in the firing. The police arrested three persons in this connection.
According to Akbarpur police station SHO Shailendra Kumar, during the immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga at Nemdarganj Bazaar on Friday night, youths from Bareb village, teased girls resulting in their severe thrashing by the public.In a retaliatory move, they, accompanied by 50 to 60 villagers of Bareb, reached Nemdarganj Bazaar at 9 am on Saturday and fired indiscriminately as well as lobbed bombs in the bazaar. They set afire half-adozen ‘paan’ shops and damaged autorickshaws.
Two persons -- Vishnu Vishwakarma and Mahesh Yadav -- who received bullet injuries are undergoing treatment at Nemdarganj PHC.
