PATNA: An unusual sight in Bihar’s Danapur near Patna has gone viral after videos surfaced showing a barber giving haircuts inside what appears to be an SBI ATM booth.
The bizarre setup, where an old ATM kiosk of the State Bank of India (SBI) has reportedly been converted into a salon without changing its exterior appearance.
From outside, the kiosk still looks like a functioning ATM centre, complete with SBI branding, blue-coloured panels and glass doors. However, people entering the booth expecting to withdraw cash are instead greeted by salon chairs, mirrors, scissors and combs.
According to local residents, the kiosk earlier housed an authorised SBI ATM. After the bank reportedly shut down the ATM operations at the location, the property owner rented out the space to a tenant.
The tenant reportedly retained the original ATM booth structure and signage and started a hair-cutting salon inside the cabin instead.
The unusual transformation quickly caught the internet’s attention, with users flooding social media platforms with witty reactions.
“New service: insert card for haircut, PIN number for shave, balance enquiry for head massage,” one user joked.
Another quipped, “AI can’t even enter Bihar.”
One comment calling the outlet “State Barbers of India” gained traction online, while another user coined the phrase “Kesh withdrawal only” — a pun combining the Hindi word for hair with banking terminology.
The viral clips continue to circulate widely, turning the former ATM booth into an unlikely social media sensation.
