Speaking at the Stanford India Conference in San Francisco, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor questioned the fairness of the SIR voter roll revision process, citing the deletion of 91 lakh names in Bengal and alleging that many legitimate voters missed their chance to vote. He also remarked that the Congress may have indirectly benefited from the exercise in Kerala due to the removal of duplicate voter enrolments allegedly linked to CPM workers.
