Even as the teachers of universities and colleges in Bihar went on an indefinite strike to press for their pending demands, the state government initiated talks with the representatives of striking teachers on Thursday evening.

PATNA: Even as the teachers of universities and colleges in Bihar went on an indefinite strike to press for their pending demands, the state government initiated talks with the representatives of striking teachers on Thursday evening.
On the invitation of the state government, a delegation of the joint action committee led by Arun Kumar, MLC, met HRD minister Hari Narayan Singh in the presence of HRD principal secretary Anjani Kumar Singh and held a detailed discussion on all the issues.

The talks were held in a cordial atmosphere and agreements on some issues were also reached. The talks would resume on Friday for further negotiations.
The delegation consisted of K B Sinha, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Dilip Kumar Chaudhary, Arun Kumar and A K Thakur.
