LASKHISARAI: Hitting hard at BJP, chief minister
Nitish Kumar on Sunday said people of Bihar had given him a full majority but those who won in his name betrayed him and people will defeat all those who seek votes in the name of caste and religion in the coming Lok Sabha polls. He said that at no cost will he compromise with the communal forces and will ensure their total annihilation from the state and country at large.
Addressing the JD(U)'s Sankalp rally at Gandhi Maidan in Lakhisarai, the CM said communal parties and those engaged in spreading rumours (hinting at RJD) are day dreaming and are living in a make-believe world of their own. He warned that people should be alert against such communal and negative forces which are engaged in spreading hatred and dividing people.
The CM also said there is a clear wave against the Congress which has measurably failed to bring down inflation and is facing several corruption charges. However, by fielding Narendra Modi as its prime ministerial candidate, the BJP has also ruined its prospect. He said that the NDA at the instance of Sharad Yadav staged a 'Bharat bandh' twice which were supported by several parties including Left parties, BJD and others, but by fielding Modi as its PM candidate, the BJP had distanced itself not only from its existing allies but closed its door for new ones.
The CM said he works for inclusive growth with justice and people from all castes, religions and backgrounds have equal opportunities of development. He also asked the people to ensure the victory of JD(U) candidates from all 40 Lok Sabha constituencies so that Bihar is not ignored and accorded special status. Nitish said he will not rest unless the state is given special status.
State JD(U) president Bashisth Narayan Singh, Munger MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh Lallan, housing minister Damodar Rawat, agriculture minister Narendra Singh, state party general secretary Bipin Yadav, MPs Ramnath Thakur, Kahkashan Perwen, Budhdeo Choudhry and several legislators and leaders from Lakhisarai, Munger, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Khagaria districts falling under Munger division also spoke on the occasion.
