Man attacked with sharp weapon, dies

PATNA: Sukan Sah, a resident of Kathekuha village under the Paliganj police station in Patna district, was killed by an unidentified miscreant while the former was engaged in harvesting his crop on Monday.
The assailant attacked Sah with a sharp-edged weapon from behind. He was rushed to a nearby referral hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries following heavy bleeding.The police said neither the identity of the assailant nor the reason behind killing Sah has been ascertained so far. A case has been registered in this connection.
Criminals enter SI’s house: Half-a-dozen criminals sneaked into the house of sub-inspector of Digha police station, Abhay Kumar, located at Mithapur under the Jakkanpur police station late on Sunday night.
The inmates of the house were fast asleep. However, before the intruders could inflict injury on anyone or commit burglary, the sub-inspector woke up. He took out his service revolver and fired four shots. The criminals jumped out of the campus of the house after hurling a countrymade bomb.
Shop looted: Four gun-toting criminals barged into a shop dealing in cellphones on Monday evening and took away a sum of Rs 15,000 in cash and four mobile phones at gun-point.
