PATNA: The Muzaffarpur police on Tuesday rescued a Class IX student within a few hours of his
kidnapping
. The police also arrested five kidnappers and seized the SUV used in the kidnapping. The cellphone used to make the ransom call has also been seized.

was kidnapped near his residence at Gopalpur under Bochaha police station when he was on way to school on Monday. “The kidnappers had made a ransom call to the boy’s family, asking them to pay Rs 7 lakh for his safe release,” the SSSP said, adding the boy was rescued from an abandoned house at Mohanpur village in Samastipur district around 3.30am on Tuesday.
The arrested persons have been identified as Sunil Kumar, Ganesh Chaudhary, Ravi Chaudhary,
Sanjay Kumar and
Rajeev Kumar.
