Nitish announces creation of three new departments; aims to provide jobs to 1 crore youth by 2030
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Friday announced the creation of three new departments, an additional directorate under the department of industries, and a new corporation to provide jobs and employment to the maximum number of youths in the state.
The new departments have been named the youth, employment and skill development department, the higher education department and the civil aviation department, while the new directorate will be known as the directorate of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME). The newly formed corporation has been named the Bihar Marketing Promotion Corporation (BMPC).
Announcing these decisions, Nitish wrote on X, “We set a target to provide jobs and employment to 1 crore youth in the next five years (2025-30). For this, it is necessary that maximum youth in the state be given training for skill development, and quality higher and technical education be made available to youth. Along with this, intensive monitoring should also be done for the achievement of the target.
“For this, I directed the creation of three new departments separately. The creation of these three new departments will greatly help in providing jobs and employment to maximum youth in the state. Through the youth, employment and skills department, a decision was taken to provide employment to a large number of youth by giving them the opportunities of entrepreneurship in the next five years.
“The purpose of creating the department of higher education is to bring qualitative improvement in higher education, promote research and innovation, develop technical and professional education, and ensure that youth from all sections of society get quality employment-oriented education.”
In his post written in Hindi, Nitish further said, “You all know that several new airports are being constructed in the state, and in future, construction of many large and small new airports is proposed under the UDAN scheme. The creation of a separate department of civil aviation will accelerate this, enhance the industrial environment, create new employment opportunities, and help in the export of products manufactured in the state.”
“We also decided to create a separate directorate of MSME and the BMPC, which will make it easier to achieve the target of providing govt jobs and employment to youth. By forming the Directorate of MSME, mega skill centres will be established in each district for skill development related to micro, small and medium enterprises for youth so that maximum job/employment opportunities can be available to the youth.
“Also, with the creation of the BMPC, the availability, quality and distribution system of products like agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture and food processing as well as handicrafts, rural industries, small and cottage industries will be strengthened and employment opportunities will be available for a large number of youth,” Nitish said in his post.
Nitish also said his govt is committed to providing govt jobs and employment to maximum youth. “We are determined to ensure that the youth of Bihar become skilled and self-reliant, get new employment opportunities and their future is secure,” he added.
