Police probing girl's suicide

The Patna Police are still investigating the circumstances under which a CBSE plus 2 girl examinee, Rashmi Rathi, 18, reached the rooftop of Chandrakunj Apartment on Exhibition Road and committed suicide by jumping from there on Sunday.

PATNA: The Patna Police are still investigating the circumstances under which a CBSE plus 2 girl examinee, Rashmi Rathi, 18, reached the rooftop of Chandrakunj Apartment on Exhibition Road and committed suicide by jumping from there on Sunday.
A police officer engaged in the investigation of the case said that Rashmi, a student of Patna Muslim School, B M Das Road, had appeared in the CBSE’s plus 2 examination.

Her two brothers had also appeared in the examination. “It seems she feared she would fair badly in the examination as she had not done well in the physics paper whereas her brothers would pass with good marks,” the police officer said.
“On Sunday, she had left her Postal Park-based house to meet a chemistry teacher near Hindi Sahitya Sammelan Bhavan in Kadamkuan locality. How did she reach Chandrakunj Apartment is still a mystery?” said the police officer. There was no witness to the mishap, the police officer said.
“We are still to get Rashmi’s autopsy report from PMCH,” said Gandhi Maidan police station SHO Bundi Manjhi.
