Probe ordered into irregularities

PATNA: HRD minister Hari Narayan Singh has ordered a probe into charges of alleged irregularities by a senior official of Patna University.
The human resources department, in a letter to the vice chancellor of Patna University, has asked for a detailed report about the charges. The official has been charged with irregularities in an affidavit filed by Bihar Samajik Nyay Kendra before the State Vigilance Investigation Bureau and the chancellor's office.
The official has been accused of grave financial irregularities and giving promotions to undeserving persons.The petition also charges the official and his close associates with committing serious irregularities in conducting examinations and manipulating results in favour of some students.
