PU to hold pending exams during summer vacation
Patna University is gearing up to finalize outstanding exams during the forthcoming month-long summer break starting May 23. With results expected by June, the new academic year is set to kick off on schedule in July. Both postgraduate and undergraduate semester exams will take place throughout May and June, as the university aims to streamline academic sessions by December.
Patna: Patna University (PU) will complete all its pending examinations during the forthcoming monthlong summer vacation commencing on May 23. The results of all these examinations would be published in June so that the new academic session may start as scheduled in July.PU controller of examinations Benoy Kumar Lal told this newspaper that the semester IV examination of the postgraduate courses of 2024-26 session would commence in the first week of June. “The dates for filling up examination forms and depositing fees will be announced in a day or two and the process is likely to start on May 15,” he said, adding that the examinations of the PG semester II course would be held in the second week of May.The semester VI examination of undergraduate courses of 2023-26 session is scheduled to commence from May 22 and the results would be published in June. Similarly, the semester II and IV examination of UG courses would be held in the second week of June.“The academic sessions of PU are running late by just about a month and that, too, will be completely regularized by December this year by ensuring timely conduct of examinations and publication of results,” Lal said.
He added, the university teachers have already been informed about the conduct of examinations in summer break with a request to cooperate in their peaceful and fair conduct. “The university has decided to double the conveyance allowance for teachers participating in invitation duties and other exam-related works during vacation,” Lal said.
