Sainik School Nalanda gets Raksha Mantri trophy
Patna: Sainik School Nalanda was awarded the Raksha Mantri trophy for the year 2023-24 on April 8, for sending the maximum number of cadets to the National Defence Academy (NDA), among the other 33 Sainik schools in the country.
Sanjay Seth, minister of state for defence, presented the award to the school's principal, Colonel Bhupender Kumar, after an interval of 10 years, at the All India Sainik Schools Principals' Conference, held at Sainik School, Tilaiya.
Eight cadets from the school secured seats in the NDA, joining the 152nd course — a three-year NDA training programme, designed to provide comprehensive intellectual, physical, and military training to the cadets. The selected cadets include Atul Tiwari, Akash Kumar, Kushagra Ujjain, Shivam Kumar, Amit Kumar, Aryan Utkarsh, Siddharth Rai, and Aditya Raj.
"The success is the result of the relentless dedication and hard work of the cadets, consistent efforts of our committed staff, and the unwavering support of parents," the principal said. The school has a record of a total of 156 cadets selected across several defence academies in a short span of 15 years.
