'Sheela Chachi' at moms' party today

PATNA: Actress Sonal Jha, who plays Sheela Chachi in the popular telly serial, 'Na Aana Iss Des Laado', would be the special guest at Super Mom - 2010, to be held at the city's Hotel Chankaya from 4 pm onwards on the Mother's Day on Sunday.
Organized by The Times of India with Sudha Comfed as the main supporter, the event would feature a pageant as the main attraction with the mothers being asked to walk the ramp in the run-up to being titled the Super Mom.
Eminent citizens of the city would be on the jury that would select the final three winners, including the winner of Super Mom - 2010 title based on looks, personality, disposition, ramp walk, special talent and question round.
They would also select Mom Flawless Skin, Mom Chef, Mom Smile and Mom Homemaker. Other fun games, prizes and gifts have also been lined up.
Last year's event saw Sushmita Mukherjee winning the Super Mom - 2009 title while Nisha Agarwal and Anita Rathi were the first and second runners-up respectively.
Meanwhile, several city schools organized functions on the eve of Mother's Day. At Tender Hearts International, the best dressed mother, the best caring mother, the best dancing mother and the best story-telling mother were awarded. On the occasion, school founder Premlata Bhargava said a mother is to her child what a potter is to the heap of clay.
Tiny tots of Bal Bharati New Patna Montessori School celebrated the day by displaying placards containing one-liners like 'I love you mother', 'Mummy, you are the best' and 'God couldn't be everywhere, therefore he created mother'. Students' mothers were also invited to participate in the celebrations. School MD Zahra Ahmad said mother is an embodiment of love and devotion and fortunate are those who get a chance to express their gratitude.
At Kidzee Play School-Kadamkuan, the show started with the national anthem and principal Chandana Gupta telling the students about the significance of Mother's Day. The students also performed on the ramp. Students' mothers also participated in a quiz contest and prizes were distributed.
