Young couple found dead near pond in Gaya

Gaya: The bodies of a youth and a girl were found lying near a pond at Sondiha village under Mohanpur police station area in Gaya district on Saturday morning. If villagers are to be believed, both were in love for the last two years. The deceased were identified as Nitish Kumar (17) and Rupa Kumari (15), residents of the same village.
According to village sources, the girl was missing from her home since Wednesday. Her family had lodged a missing case at Mohanpur police station on Wednesday, and in the complaint, they accused Nitish of kidnapping Rupa. Enraged over the incident, villagers created uproar and were not ready to hand over the bodies to the police for postmortem. Eyes of the couple were damaged.
City SP Prerana Kumar and Bodh Gaya SDPO Saurabh Jaiswal reached the spot and pacified the villagers after that the bodies were sent to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
SSP Sahish Bharti said, "A technical and a forensic science laboratory (FSL) teams also reached the spot and started investigation from different angles, including honour killing and suicide. Adequate police force has been deployed at the village to maintain law and order."
