Urdu library honours literary legends

Patna: Government Urdu Library on Thursday hosted an elegant awards ceremony to recognise outstanding contributions to Urdu literature, poetry and journalism. The lifetime achievement awards were presented to Maulana Abul Kalam Qasmi Shamsi, Shameem Qasmi, Ijaz Rasool and Shakeel Sahsarami in recognition of their exceptional work in poetry and literary scholarship, and to Mufti Sana-ul-Huda for his invaluable services to Urdu letters.In addition, Imran Sageer was honoured for his impartial journalism while Muhammad Shahid Iqbal received an award for his distinguished contributions to Urdu journalism. The event brought together leading poets, writers and journalists to celebrate the rich heritage and ongoing vibrancy of the Urdu language.
