Man gets two years rigorous imprisonment for sexually harassing minor girl in Puducherry

PUDUCHERRY: A fast-track court in Puducherry handling cases booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012 sentenced a 38-year-old mechanic to two years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually harassing a 17-year-old girl.
The judge awarded a compensation of Rs 1 lakh to the minor survivor.
According to special public prosecutor S Patcheappan, K Pavadairayan, a washing machine mechanic in Kurumampet on the outskirts of Puducherry town, sexually harassed the girl last year.
