2,500 doctors to attend medical meet

PUNE: The Jain Doctors' Federation, Pune, will conduct the seventh Jain Doctors' Conference, which will cover topics ranging from "medication to meditation". The two-day conference will start at the Ganesh Kala Krida on Saturday.
Briefing mediapersons, orthopaedic surgeon Ramesh Ranka, organising chairman of the conference, said, "The theme of the conference is 'modern medicine and science with spirituality for global health and peace'.

Discussions will primarily revolve around the major strengths of modern medicine, its capacity to grow, adapt and accept ideas from other areas of healthcare, including acupuncture, hypnotherapy, homeopathy, ayurveda, nutritional medicine and spirituality."
"We expect about 2,500 doctors to attend the conference," said Hitesh Solanki, hospital administrator and organising treasurer for the conference.
"We believe that such a holistic approach is the key to achieving global peace and health, which is the ultimate goal of this conference," said surgeon and organising secretary Suresh Jain.
