4 booked for assaulting Pvt firm staffer

Pune: The South Mahalunge MIDC police have registered a case against four men, who brutally thrashed a private company's employee, after the company's truck hit a woman's scooter. The incident happened on Monday afternoon at Mahalunge. The victim (36), of Moshi, sustained severe injuries in the attack.An officer from the South Mahalunge MIDC police said that a truck of the complainant's company hit a woman's scooter at Mahalunge. The driver called the complainant. The latter reached the spot and admitted the woman to a nearby hospital. When he returned to the accident spot, the woman's son and two others started abusing him. They pelted stones at him and thrashed him."The complainant escaped from their clutches and ran inside a nearby company. The accused chased him and dragged him out of the company. One of them assaulted him with a stone to the face, while another thrashed him with a stick", the officer said.He said that the accused fled from there after the incident. The police have registered the case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against them. "Our investigations are on", he said.
