Man jumps before PMPML bus, dies
Pune: A man, aged 40 years old, died after jumping in front of a moving PMPML bus on Bund Garden bridge near Parnakuti police chowky on Monday morning.Senior inspector Ravindra Kadam of Pune Police said an accidental death report (ADR) was registered on Monday evening and efforts were underway to identify the deceased."The bus was heading from Yerawada to Pune railway station when the incident occurred," Kadam said. According to the driver and passengers, the man was walking on the bridge footpath before suddenly running towards the bus and jumping in front of it. "Before the driver could react, the man came under the front wheel," he said.Police said no identification documents were found on the deceased. "We have alerted Pune city, Pimpri Chinchwad and Ahilyanagar police to check if any missing person matches his description," Kadam added.In a separate incident in Alandi on Monday afternoon, another unidentified man died after coming under a PMPML bus while it was being reversed at a bus stop. Police said a case of rash and negligent driving was registered against the driver.
