Mega career fair in May

PUNE: The city will play host to a big career exhibition for college students, "Career 2003'', on the Garware College campus from May 17 to 19.
The exhibition will include a display of 50 educational stalls and around 20 seminars conducted by eminent educationists such as Sharadchandra Gokhale, B.G. Murthi, Sarita Bhat, Ram Takawale and Pradeep Lokhande.
Speaking at a press conference in the city on Thursday, principal of Garware College of Commerce, S.G.Palsodkar, said the main aim of the exhibition was to provide appropriate and timely guidance to students. "The exhibition will enable them to choose and pursue a career of their interest," he said.
Palsodkar said the exhibition would provide students with exhaustive information regarding educational courses, vocational training, educational loan schemes and many other opportunities that they normally fail to notice due to lack of information.
The main attraction of the exhibition would be stalls put up by Bank of Maharashtra and the Khadi Gram Udyog Corporation to give information on "soft loans" and various business opportunities available for aspiring entrepreneurs, he said.
