Siddiqui murder: 4 prison officials suspended

PUNE: The state prison department on Saturday suspended four officials posted at the Yerawada central prison for dereliction of duty in the murder case of alleged IM operative Mohammad Qateel Siddiqui at the high security anda cell of the jail on June 8.
Gangster Sharad Mohol and his aide Alok Bhalerao had allegedly strangled Siddiqui to death inside the cell.
The suspended officials include S H Jadhavar, M K Avaghade, S N Rakh and in-charge of the anda cell C V Tayade. The prison department had conducted an inquiry following the incident. tnnThe department suspended the officials on Saturday for their negligence.
