PUNE: Additional sessions judge J D Kulkarni on Friday sent two people to life imprisonment and fined them Rs 1,000 each for murdering Vijay Suryavanshi (38) of Wadgaon Budruk in 2008.
The convicts are identified as Devendra alias Bitya Bhausaheb Padale (26) and Sunil Gulab Yadav (22), both from Wadgaon Budruk.
Their accomplices Ravi Gaddakulu (20), Tushar Shelar (20) and Rahul Jadhav (20) awarded imprisonment from the date of detention at the Yerawada central prison till January 11 under section 304 (II) of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the prosecution, the convicts armed with sharp weapons had killed Suryavanshi near a temple at Wadgaon Maval on September 17, 2008. Suryavanshi was constantly abusing and threatening them after they had a fight with his brother's employer's son Mayur Basarkatti.
Following a complaint lodged by Suryavanshi's brother Narayan under section 302 read with 34 of the IPC, inspector Satish Patil had arrested theculprits on September 21, 2008.
Additional public prosecutor Neelima Vartak examined 16 witnesses to prove the guilt of the accused.
