PUNE: The crime branch of the Pune police on Saturday arrested a 25-year-old vehicle thief and recovered six stolen twowheelers worth Rs 2.40 lakh.

Police constable Abdul Karim Sayyad was tipped-off that the suspect Shinde would be coming to Khadki on a stolen scooter with false number plates.
“We laid a trap and took Shinde into custody,“ Gaikwad said.
During the questioning, the suspect Shinde admitted to stealing the scooter from Khadak, recently . “During sustained interrogation, Shinde confessed to stealing five more two-wheelers from the different parts of the city , with help from an accomplice from Solapur district,“ Gaikwad added.
Shinde also revealed he had sold one of the five stolen motorcycles to a friend from Dhayari.“We have recovered that motorcycle, which was sold at a throwaway price,“ Gaikwad said.
