RAIPUR: Raipur Municipal Corporation would conduct fogging drive to keep insects at bay. Acting over recent complaints , RMC commissioner Avnish Kumar Sharan has ordered health wing to begin drive during evening. Vehicle mountable fogging machines would be used for drive on Fridays and Saturdays.

Shiva Sharma said the drive would be conducted at Jaistabh Chowk via Malviya road, Kotwali, Civil Lines, Byron Bazaar and will move towards Shailendra Nagar.
On Saturdays, Tatyapara, Sundar Nagar, Lakhe Nagar and Samta Colony areas would be covered.
In another development, continuing its drive against stray dog menace, RMC is acting on complaints on presence of dogs in residential areas of city. On Monday, nearly 50 stray dogs were caught from Vivekanand Nagar, Dharamnagar, Sanjay Nagar, and other areas. A dog squad team left them out of city limits in two dog-catcher vehicles.
Mayor Kiranmayee Nayak replied saying that there wasn't a permanent solution as of now as population of stray dogs was high. She added that a sterilization centre will be introduced in few months time.
