According to local sources, the incident was being pressed and matter was being hushed up as they objected indicating that the local officials inquiring the matter wouldn’t act fair enough due to their alleged involvement with offenders.
Sources said that the delivery was conducted in hostel premises by woman superintendent and her husband on December 28, last year while the girl left for her native place on January 4.
Meanwhile, other details if the girl was sexually assaulted or raped is yet to be ascertained.
Talking to TOI, Koriya collector S Prakash said, “I have received the information of such incident but it is yet to be confirmed but investigations were ordered to find the truth. District officials have been sent to hostel and get details."
Assistant commissioner tribal welfare department AK Gadewal was assigned to probe the matter and the details would be revealed once officials return. They couldn’t be reached on phone as there’s no mobile network available in interiors of Koriya district where the hostel is situated.
