NSL celebrates two years of Nagarnar steel plant in Bastar
Raipur: NMDC Steel Limited (NSL), a public sector enterprise under the ministry of steel, marked its second anniversary at the Nagarnar steel plant in Bastar region on Sunday.
Speaking on the occassion, CMD (additional charge) of NSL Amitava Mukherjee said, "Our journey has been extraordinary." He highlighted NSL's contribution to the nation's steel industry and its transformative impact on Bastar.
The plant, with a three MTPA capacity, has seen significant milestones in its short history, making strides in India's steel production. Key achievements of NSL include the production of 1.5 million tonnes of hot metal by July 2024, and one million tonnes each of liquid steel and HR coil by Aug. NSL aims to further ramp up production to 2,10,000 tonnes of hot metal and 1,50,000 tonnes of HR coil by FY25.
