Bodies of young man, woman found hanging from tree

Palanpur: The bodies of a young man and a woman were found hanging from a tree in a field on the banks of a river in Khedbrahma town of Sabarkantha district on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Minesh Khokharia Jenny (28), a resident of Didhia village, and Bhani (21), who had been living with her maternal uncle in Chikhla village for the past several years. Her native village was Makad Champa.

The bodies were found hanging from a tree on a farm owned by Shailesh Thakore near the banks of the Harnao River passing through Khedbrahma.

”A shepherd spotted the bodies in the field and alerted the farm owner, who then informed the police,” said Khedbrahma Town police inspector D V Hadat.

Police suspect it to be a case of suicide linked to a failed love affair. “The families of the deceased are being questioned before any definite conclusion can be drawn,” PI Hadat said.
