RAJKOT: Police have cracked the
murder case of a youth who was killed five days ago with sharp-edged weapons near a workshop on Gondal Road.
The two accused, including a minor boy, have been arrested. They killed the youth to steal his cell phone on October 8.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Santosh Chaudhary (23), was attacked by Dharmesh Nimawat (18), resident of Rameshwer Society and Rahul Jogiyani (15), resident of Rawaldev.
"We began investigations after locating the cellphone. It was traced to Nimawat and he was arrested on Tuesday. During interrogation, he confessed to having killed Santosh with the help of Rahul to steal the phone," said crime branch inspector DM Vaghela.
Police have seized a knife used in the killing from the accused and sought their remand for further investigations.
