85% students from Jharkhand clear CBSE Class XII exam, girls’ pass rate 87.6%
Ranchi: Jharkhand registered an overall pass percentage of 85.01% in CBSE Class XII examination, whose results were declared on Wednesday. Girls recorded a pass percentage of 87.66, while 82.68% of boys cleared the exam.
A total of 50,690 students from the state appeared in the exam held between Feb 17 and April 9 across 181 centres. Of them, 43,092 have cleared the exams. As many as 83 children with special needs (CWSN) candidates also appeared for the exam. According to official data, 26,938 boys and 23,752 girls appeared in the exam. Out of them, 22,272 boys and 20,820 girls cleared the exam.
From Ranchi, Bhavya Ranjan of Oxford Public School emerged as a national topper in the humanities stream after scoring 499 out of 500 marks. At DPS School, Riyan Sarda from the humanities topped with 99.6%, while Shivanshi Sharma topped in science with 99.2%, and Anvesha Saboo in commerce with 98.6%.
At Sharda Global School, Piyush Shankar emerged as one of the state toppers in commerce with 99%.
At Surendranath Centenary School (SCS), Shivani Singh topped humanities with 98.2%, while Kaushal Agarwal secured 97% in commerce, and Suprita Kumari 95.8% in science, said principal Samita Sinha. Loyola Convent School principal Paramita Saha added, “A total of 142 students had appeared for the exam, and all have passed with flying colours.”
At Kairali Public School, principal Rajesh Pillai said they too achieved 100% pass rate.
DAV Public School, Hehal, also reported excellent results with Hardik Jain scoring 97% in commerce, while Sukanya Bishoi of Cambrian Public School (CPS) secured 97% in science.
Nirja Sahay DAV Public School also recorded good results with Piyush Singh topping in science (95.6%), Sonali Kumar in commerce (92.6%) and Shiwani Kumar in humanities (92.2%).
