CM asks for report over alleged humiliation: Chief minister Arjun Munda on Saturday has asked for a detailed report over alleged humiliation of a district board member in a public forum.
The incident started when district superintendent of education (DSE) Ashok Purvey asked district board president Anita Devi to leave her chair for somebody in a function celebrating Ambedkar Jayanti. Anita took this as an insult and humiliation in public place as she hails from a Dalit family.
Purvey said it was an "unintentional incident" and went to apologize but were manhandled by her supporters when he reached her house.
District board members are now up in arms against the "indifference and apathy" meted out to them by government officials.
Deputy commissioner Pooja Singhal said a detailed report of the whole incident had been sent to the chief minister as requested by him.
