Bokaro: An awareness programme highlighting tobacco's harmful effects was conducted at Kendriya Vidyalaya-3 on Friday, focusing on dangers of nicotine addiction and tobacco de-addiction awareness.
District advisor Mohammad Aslam educated students about tobacco's toxic components and their health implications. He emphasized that nicotine, the primary intoxicant in tobacco, can trigger anxiety, insomnia, irritability, and depression, particularly among youth. Aslam directed those battling tobacco addiction to seek help at the tobacco de-addiction centre at Sadar Hospital's OPD.
School principal Krishna Kumar reinforced that tobacco consumption, in any form, is hazardous and gradually deteriorates human health. He encouraged students to avoid addiction and spread awareness in their communities.
The programme concluded with a call to action for students and citizens to embrace a tobacco-free lifestyle and help others understand its risks.
