Bomb Threat Hoax: Ranchi Civil Court & Jamshedpur XLRI Receive Fake Threats, Police Investigate
Jamshedpur/Ranchi: The Ranchi civil court and Jamshedpur's XLRI on Tuesday received emails threatening to explode bombs on the premises. However, those turned out to be hoaxes as nothing suspicious was found during searches, police said.Immediately after receiving the threat mail, the college authorities alerted the district police, triggering a rapid emergency response. The bomb disposal squad and the sniffer dog squad were deployed for a thorough search. Prior to that, the business school was completely evacuated by the police as a precautionary measure.The cyber cell of the district police is examining the email. “All were evacuated from the college premises and a thorough search is underway. People shouldn’t panic,” SSP, Piyush Pandey told the media.Ranchi civil court received third such email in recent months. Kotwali deputy superintendent of police Prakash Soy said, "We conducted a thorough search on the court premises. Nothing suspicious was found."
