Bokaro: Expressing his dissatisfaction on the unsatisfactory credit ratio of several banks in the district, deputy commissioner (DC) Ajay Nath Jha on Friday asked the banks that their respective credit ratios should dip below 40%.
Chairing the district level credit committee (DLCC) and district level review committee (DLRC) meetings on Friday, Jha said certain banks were failing to meet targets in key sectors like agriculture, micro, small and medium enterprises, education, housing and self-help group credit linkage. He stressed that banks must prepare fresh strategies and improve their performance before the next review meeting. “Casual discussions on poor performance will not be acceptable anymore,” he said.
He also highlighted the importance of linking SHGs with credit and empowering women through timely loan disbursement. He asked banks to approve loans under Mudra and Kisan Credit Card schemes without delay. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the RBI and NABARD.
