ITI student kills self, parents blame ragging

RANCHI: Plagued by alleged ragging, Abhishek Kumar, a 21-year-old student who was receiving vocational training at Industrial Training Institute in Bundu committed suicide. Abhishek was found dead at his house in Jhagru Bagan area in Jamshedpur on Wednesday. Police say that he had killed himself on Tuesday night.
Abhishek’s father, Shyam Bhagat said, “My son was depressed since January due to an incident of ragging.He had also filed a complaint with police but no action was taken against the bullies. He had told us once that he did not want to go back to the institute.”
Bundu officer in charge S Tamang, however, claimed that thay haven’t received any such complaint.
