Ranchi Shooter Arrested: Anil Tiger Murder Suspect Nabbed in West Bengal

Ranchi: The police on Saturday claimed to have arrested Abhishek Kumar alias Suraj Singh, a shooter who was wanted in the murder of land dealer Anil Tiger in Kanke on March 26, 2025, from Hatiara in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Singh was also wanted in an attempt to murder trader Radheshyam Sahu under Nagri police station limits on October 15 last year.

Rural SP Gaurav Goswami stated that a special investigation team was formed to arrest the accused after getting a tip off about him. “A team was sent to Kolkata to apprehend him. During interrogation, he has confessed of taking Rs 20 lakh for the job,” he said.

The SP further stated that Suraj had also taken another Rs 5 lakh to hire shooters who killed Anil Tiger over a land dispute. “Anil had a dispute with one person called Deovrat Shadeo, who in fact had hired Suraj to eliminate him,” said SP, adding that Suraj was absconding since then and was abstaining from using mobile phones to avoid detection.

Suraj was an accused in four other cases registered in Ranchi, Hazaribag and Bokaro districts.
