Dumka: In major relief for Deoghar commuters, BJP MP from Godda Nishikant Dubey on Sunday inaugurated the long-awaited Shankarpur Rail Overbridge (ROB) on the busy Satsang–Bhirkhibad main road.
Built at a cost of Rs 37.55 crore, the 808-metre bridge will ease congestion caused for years by the Naiyadih railway crossing on the Howrah–New Delhi line.
Delayed since its 2016 foundation due to land acquisition hurdles, the ROB now ensures smoother access to AIIMS Deoghar, Giridih and Ranchi.
Dubey said, "Deoghar is rapidly developing and more such overbridges would be required." MLA Suresh Paswan called it "crucial for the region."
