Sindri fertiliser plant reaches 60% prodn capacity

The company officials here said that the senior vicepresident of Hurl Dippen Roy said that the company has achieved 60% of its capacity in producing nearly 2000 metric tonnes of urea in three days. Roy said that manual loading of urea is highly labor-oriented, but local contract laborers are not showing any interest in loading work, causing inordinate delays in rake loading. He said that as the railways charge heavy demurrage for loading beyond the stipulated time, they are facing a lot of problems currently. Roy also said that though the electrification job of the rail line has been completed, the electric line is expected to be charged by January 20.

Dhanbad: The Hindustan Urvarak and Rasayan Limited (HURL) plant in Sindri has achieved 60% of its capacity by producing nearly 2,000 metric tonnes (MT) of urea in three days, company officials here said.
The senior vice-president of HURL, Dipten Roy, said, “The first rake of 1,250 MT of urea was dispatched to Bardhaman in West Bengal on the night of January 11 and the second rake was dispatched on Friday night.”
Roy said manual loading of urea is highly labour-oriented but local contract labourers are not showing any interest in loading work causing inordinate delays in rake loading.

“As the railways charge heavy demurrage for loading beyond the stipulated time, we are facing a lot of problems. Currently, we can load mini-rakes containing 21 wagons only but planning to start full-rake loading from January 20,” he said.
Roy also said, “Though the electrification job of the rail line has been completed, the electric line is expected to be charged by January 20.”
