A faction of the Maoist Communist Party (MCP) set ablaze two transport heavy vehicles at a stone crusher mine near the Indo-Tibetan border police camp on Tuesday night. The police said the intruders arrived at the mines and overpowered the security guard before asking about the mine owner and also snatched away his mobile phone. The intruders left the place after setting the vehicles on fire. The police have recorded the statement of the guard and secured closed circuit television camera footage to trace the intruders. There was no demand for levy from the stone crusher owner in the past, and the Kanke area did not have history of TPC activities. The search operation is underway in the area.
